Every kid in New Bedford for generations wanted to go to the Frates Bottle for their ice cream on a hot summer's night. It was made by Frates themselves.

If you lived in the south end of New Bedford it was easier to go to Cove Rd and S. Water street and get some food or Ice cream.

This Frates dairy Ice Cream restaurant was operated by Brian Rapoza's father back in the day.

The whole area was devastated by the Route 18 project that to many homes and businesses by eminant domain.
