Charles W. Morgan at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut
Here we see the Charles W. Morgan in more modern times as it is restored.
On November 8, 1941, lacking financial support from the city of New Bedford, the city's last whale ship
the "Charles W. Morgan" was donated to Mystic Seaport by his sister and heir.
The ship had been enshrined at
Colonel Green's Estate at Round Hill.
The Colonel had already passed away in1936.
The Charles W. Morgan was the only American whale ship to have survived from the whaling era.
Usually, the ship can be boarded and seen at Mystic Seaport.
