1921 Wainer Bros. Fruit
New Bedford

Wainer Bros. Fruit listed in the 1921 New Bedford Directory as located on 11 S. Water Street.

In 1918 Henry Wainer, one of the of the brothers is listed as a salesman at a store on 2 S. Water Street.

In 1919, he is listed as living at 344 Purchase St. and his brother and partner David lived at 115 Maxfield St.

In 1921, the store is listed at 11 S. Water St. (intersection with Union.St.).

If you notice in the photo, there are two buildings that serve as the single store.

This is where the YMCA is now.

The family is still in the business as of 2011 as "Sid Wainer & Son".
